Robert Cain

Robert Cain

Robert is the founder and president of Cainsoft, a software development and consulting firm focused on bringing innovative solutions to the asset management industry. He has worked in the investment industry for over 15 years; first with Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor, and then as a consultant to the Morgan Stanley International Private Group in London. His current industry involvement comes through continuous contact with clients, colleagues, and partners worldwide.

His technology background can be traced back to the introduction of the personal computer in the early 1980’s. As a self-taught programmer, he paid his way through college by writing database applications for local business, and has continued his interest for nearly 25 years.

He is a 1987 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelors Degree in Physics, who continues to educate himself through extensive world travel, and an addiction to the Internet. In 2006, he was inducted into the Society of International Business Fellows, a network of 450 CEOs and high-level executives who share a keen interest in global commerce.

Andrew Schaffernoth

Institutional Marketing and Consulting

Andrew has more than 20 years of experience in the institutional marketplace and a comprehensive background in fiduciary services, product development and investment marketing.  In 2002, he founded Chesapeake Investment Marketing & Advisory Group in Midlothian, VA and in 2006, he joined Alta Capital as Principal and Director of Institutional Marketing. Throughout his extensive career in the investment industry, Andrew has served as sales executive, client relationship manager and has actively participated in the design and implementation of numerous investment industry related services and systems.

Mr. Schaffernoth graduated cum laude from Campbell University with a B.A. in Trust and Investment Management and is actively involved in numerous professional organizations.

Ron Surz

Ron is president of PPCA Inc, and a Principal of RCG LLP. He is a pension consulting veteran, having started with A.G. Becker in the 1970's. Ron earned an MBA in Finance at the University of Chicago and an MS in Applied Mathematics at the University of Illinois, and holds a CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst) designation.

He has published regularly in such publications as The Journal of Wealth Management, The Journal of Investing, Journal of Portfolio Management, Pensions & Investments, Senior Consultant, HorsesMouth and the IMCA Monitor, as well as contributed to and edited several books. Ron's most recently co-edited book is Hedge Funds: Definitive Strategies and Techniques (Wiley Finance). Ron is also a member of the following boards and councils:

Jeff Tarumianz

GIPS Standards and Verification

Jeff serves as Managing Director and Chief Verifier with ACA Beacon Verification Services. His background in investment management and performance measurement is extensive.

Jeff served as portfolio manager for the Trust Investments department at SunTrust Bank, N.A. for three years. His duties included performance measurement responsibilities along with asset management.

Jeff then served as Product Manager at Investment Scorecard, Inc., a performance reporting company. He also served as the point of contact for all AIMR-PPS compliance issues for over 400 clients.

Jeff received his CFA charter in 2000 and holds a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Chattanooga Society of Financial Analysts.
